Choristers is the Children's Choir of St. Vincent Martyr. Under the direction of Lauren Johnson, they provide music for our Sunday Family Liturgies at 9 am and rehearse on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 PM during the choir season. Additionally, this group will participate in a regional children's choir festival, Pueri Cantores, in New York City on Saturday, March 18th, 2023.
This young group of music ministers accepts members from 3rd - 8th grade boys and girls. While "youth" centered, music for this group includes much of the traditional repertoire of the congregation. Interested seventh and eighth graders receive training as young Psalmists and Cantors.
All children are most welcome at any time of the year.
On Saturday, March 18, the St. Vincent Martyr Parish Choristers sang in the 2023 Pueri Cantores New York Children's Choral Festival and Mass. This festival required our choristers to work very hard with Ms. Lauren Johnson, their director, Ms. Linda Loria, their accompanist, and by practicing on their own time. The Festival Choir rehearsed all day under the direction of Bryan Zaros, and led song that evening during Mass at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Congratulations to our young parishioners for being a part of this fantastic choral event! If you are interested in joining the SVM Choristers, please contact Lauren Johnson at lauren.johnson@svmnj.org.
