Members of the parish who are seriously ill, or scheduled to undergo surgery, are encouraged to receive the Anointing of the Sick. This sacrament, which consists of prayers for healing, the laying on of hands, and the anointing with holy oil, seeks God’s healing power for the sick. The Anointing of the Sick may take place at a weekday Mass, at the hospital, or at the home of the sick person. For more information contact our Parish Office or our Pastor, Father George at 973 377 4000 ext 101 or frgeorge@svmnj.org.
Visitation of the Sick and Elderly
Please keep us informed so that we can be attentive to those who are ill at home or in the hospital. Visitation and communion calls take place on Fridays.
The Parish Anointing of the Sick will take place at a special Liturgy in our Church (26 Green Village Road) in March 2021.
Persons afflicted with physical, mental, or emotional sicknesses such as cancer, diabetes, alcoholism, chronic heart/lung disease, arthritis, depression, anxiety, and/or persons who find themselves in a weakened condition due to age or illness are invited to attend this Liturgy and to be anointed. Caregivers and those grieving the loss of a loved one are also invited to participate in this Healing Sacrament. To be anointed in this way is to be consecrated---that is, to be set aside---for God's blessing and protection during this time of sickness. The sacrament also is a powerful prayer for physical and spiritual healing.
If you or someone in your family would like to be on our Parish Prayer List for the Sick, please contact our parish office at 973 377 4000.
